The manufacturing process is at the heart of what makes Snider Industries' quality lumber products. Lumber is steam-dried in conventional kilns at 180 F for 72 hours, then allowed equalize for about two weeks in the dry lumber shed, allowing it to regain a stable moisture content guaranteed to be below 15%. Snider prefers the conventional steam kilns, not the high-temperature kilns used by most mills. This process allows for a soft, pliable board suitable for multiple purposes including millwork and patterns. All of Snider's lumber products receive a SPIB HT Grade mark of D & Better, #2 or #3; and a moisture content grade mark of 15%, including shorts products.
